Housing Initiatives Aotea (HIA) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life on Aotea Great Barrier Island. HIA concentrates on providing the elderly, families, individuals and businesses with assistance to find suitable land, housing and accommodation on Aotea. HIA’s focus is on the unmet housing needs of local residents as well as creating housing required for a self-sustainable Aotea. 

HIA is currently running a 'Housing Needs Survey' to establish exactly what our local community need - keep an eye out for our findings!
